I know but…the thing is, we owe to much to the show. You and I. Without this show I wouldn’t have even met you.

I know we do. God, I know. If it wasn’t for the show, I’d probably still be stuck in Lima, struggling to get out, and I wouldn’t have met the love of my life. I wouldn’t be wearing a ring that promises we would be each other’s for the rest of our lives. I wouldn’t have the wonderful friends I do and I wouldn’t have experienced things that are amazing. The fact that it’s ending doesn’t invalidate any of it, you know.

Look, I understand. This show means as much to me as it means to you. I’m not exactly happy about coming back for this season, especially given… everything that happened. But maybe this is for the best. I just hate to see things end this way.

Mmmmm, I think you might have a point. I like that, I think it sounds nicely. ‘Husband’. It’s easy for me to see myself introducing you to people like that. “This is Mike, my husband.” I think I’m going to like that very much.

Mike shook his head with a huge smile still plastered on his face, showing no signs of leaving now. “We’re perfect.” he added with a gentle kiss on her cheek, “I want this day to be known as the day you made Michael Han Lao Chang the happiest guy in existence.” He looked into her eyes and the love that radiated from them shone brightly to return to his own. He let out a laugh of, almost disbelief that his life finally became the epitome of happiness. “I love you so much.” he said simply, unable to properly express his feelings at that point.

He took her into his arms again, though this time only with his left arm so with his right he could hold Rachel’s left hand and kiss the ring that now had a home of its own. He glanced at it and it looked perfect on her. It sparkled slightly with her movements and he looked at it before looking back at her with a huge grin. “Time for future Mrs. Rachel Berry Chang to come consummate her engagement. And I don’t care that consummating engagements don’t entirely work that way, I want to be with my fiancée I love so dearly in the city of love with the one she loves. And if he’s busy I’ll stand in his place.” He joked before taking her by both hands and walking backwards to lead her forwards into the Eiffel Tower, pressing the button to head up to the restaurant.

She looked up at him as he kissed her cheek, batting her eyelashes twice as a timid smile lit up her face. Through all the drama, all the times that life pulled the rug under their feet, all the times that things just didn’t go right, they’d pulled through it all, some times being more difficult than others but ultimately managing to find their way back to each other. If there was one thing Rachel was grateful for was that night that Mike showed up at her apartment and back into her life, the night that convinced Rachel she hadn’t lost him forever, and to see them now, fully aware of exactly how much they wanted and needed each other was beautiful in her eyes. A warm feeling spread through her chest, mixing joy, love and adoration, because Mike’s expression was so radiant that Rachel couldn’t help but to mirror it, eyes scanning his features over and over again. “You complete, Mike. Your happiness is my happiness, and I want you to know that I want to make you feel like that for the rest of your life, just so you understand how I feel when you’re with me.”

Her smile widened as he kissed the ring on her finger, and the way it fit naturally made Rachel thoroughly convinced that this was what she’d been waiting for before she even realized it. She couldn’t get enough of the way he was smiling at her, the way he seemed as happy as she’d ever seen him, and Rachel was infatuated with the fact that this was what waited her for the rest of her life. At his comment, she grinned at him, unable to contain her happiness from showing on her face. “Oh, baby, I don’t care how it works, no one could stop me from doing this.” His little quip made her pull him closer again, one arm wrapped around his neck as she pressed a kiss to his throat and then spoke against the skin of his neck. “There is no one else quite like you, you know. I got so lucky.” And then her hands were slipping back to his as he conducted them to elevator, and it was only then that Rachel allowed herself to fully appreciate the beauty of their surroundings, having to stop to just take it all in as they rode up to one of the restaurants.

I wish I could even begin to explain how I feel about you, Mike. I wish I could make anyone understand how much I love you. But it’s something so big, so powerful that… there isn’t a way of putting it into words.
